Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree in clinical lab science (MLT) required.
• Bachelor's degree in sciences required.
• Degree and coursework must meet high complexity testing per CLIA Sec. 493.1487.
• ASCP certification as MLT/MT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and interprets chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests.
• Follows protocols to perform tests in assigned area.
• Refers complex results to senior staff for interpretation.
• Ensures test results meet quality control requirements.
• Interprets results in context of patient history and condition.
• Maintains preventative maintenance for equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs complex laboratory instrumentation.
• Maintains accurate records of tests in computer systems.
