• Certification by the ASCP BOC; registry eligible if not yet certified and obtain within first year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for testing and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Perform specialized laboratory tests and quality control; troubleshoot QC errors.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments; perform preventative maintenance.
• Communicate technical information to medical and lay persons; assist training of lab personnel.
