DMC University Laboratories (DMCUL) is a regional, integrated laboratory system providing services to the eight hospitals of Detroit Medical Center. The laboratory offers over 1,000 tests, including high-end specialty tests, with less than 1% sent to outside reference labs. It also provides reference services to other healthcare systems in Southeastern Michigan and out-of-state facilities.
Under general supervision, performs quantitative and qualitative tests on patient specimens according to standard procedures. Analyzes results, maintains records, and prepares samples. Ensures the validity of solutions, reagents, media, stains, and materials used in testing. Operates and troubleshoots laboratory equipment, reviews and reports lab results, and acts as a resource to other personnel.
