DMC University Laboratories (DMCUL) is a regional, integrated laboratory system providing services to the eight hospitals of Detroit Medical Center. It offers a test menu of over 1,000 tests, including high-end specialty tests, with less than 1% sent to outside reference laboratories. DMCUL also provides reference laboratory services to other healthcare systems in Southeastern Michigan and out-of-state facilities.
Under general supervision, performs quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard procedures. Analyzes test results, prepares samples, calculates findings, and maintains records. Prepares solutions, reagents, media, stains, and materials used in testing. Processes and tests various laboratory specimens, reviews and reports results, and maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Acts as a resource to other laboratory personnel.
