Job summary

Penn Medicine's Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) is seeking a Medical Technologist to join its Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory. This role supports Penn Medicine's multi-organ and stem cell transplant programs, including kidney, pancreas, heart, lung, and VCA transplantation.

The ideal candidate will perform high-complexity testing, participate in QA and validation, and provide on-call support for STAT testing and donor workups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Biological Sciences or a related field is required.
• Clinical laboratory or HLA laboratory experience is preferred.
• Experience with databases, Excel, and computer systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity laboratory testing and data analysis.
• Conduct HLA antibody screening, molecular typing (NGS, SSO, RT-PCR), and flow cytometry crossmatching.
• Participate in quality assurance, test validation, and implementation activities.
• Provide rotational on-call support for STAT testing and donor workups.
