Position: Medical Technologist - General Lab - Part Time

Department: ATXNC GENERAL LAB

Shift: 7am - 5:30pm - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday / Rotating every 3rd weekend

We are seeking a Medical Technologist who thrives in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will perform routine and specialized procedures to gather data or prepare products for diagnosing and treating diseases, ensuring high-quality patient care. Do you have what it takes?

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Certification: MT-STATE, MT-AAB, MT-AMT, CLSP, IMLS, BB-ASCP, C-ASCP, H-ASCP, MLS-ASCP, MT-ASCP, MB-ASCP, MP-ASCP, or MT-NCA

Responsibilities:

• Verify patient demographic information, receipt documentation, and recognize and troubleshoot erroneous, inconsistent, and special orders to determine specimen and order suitability.
• Perform routine and specialized procedures accurately, evaluate results for correctness, recognize abnormal results, and perform timely problem-solving as documented.
• Order supplies to maintain inventory levels and complete patient orders.
• Assess the suitability of supplies from receipt to disposal, quarantining or discarding unsuitable supplies immediately.
• Conduct and document quality control procedures, quarantining defective reagents as needed.
• Participate in training and continuing education of personnel.
• Serve as 'in-charge' technologist in the absence of supervisors, prioritizing workflow, making decisions per department policies, and documenting issues for review.
