Job summary

MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis and instrument maintenance. You will provide accurate results reporting and resolve technical issues with a service-focused approach.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or Sciences, ASCP MT/MLS or AMT/Mt certification, and strong data-handling skills. Evening shift, FTE 1.0, schedule Mon-Fri and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Sciences (required).
• Master's degree in Medical Technology (preferred).
• Certification for Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), AMT or MT (AAB) (required or preferred).
• Specialist Certification in discipline (preferred): SH/SM/SBB/SC.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and ensure positive identification.
• Determine suitability of specimens for testing.
• Acquire and prepare reagents as needed.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Sciences

Master's degree in Medical Technology

Position Summary

The Medical Technologist is an excellent technical opportunity at MultiCare, responsible for performing patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance and technical problem resolution. This position requires a service-committed individual, who is detail oriented and can perform complex data analysis, exercise sound, independent judgment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $39.14 - $62.07 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
