Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist for the Day shift (3pm – 11:30pm) in Chicago. You will perform routine and specialized tests, follow procedures, and maintain quality control.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for this shift; relocation or OPT/visa sponsorship is not provided. Bachelor’s or associate degree in lab sciences required. Pay range is $31.50–$51.50 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package; employment includes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in chemical or biological sciences, or an associate’s degree in laboratory sciences or medical laboratory technology with specified credit hours.
• Meets regulatory requirements for moderate or high complexity testing as appropriate.
• Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Follows clinical laboratory testing procedures and policies in routine and specialized tests.
• Identifies source and nature of test problems and recommends action.
• Applies scientific method in problem solving and assists in evaluating new methods and techniques.
• Ensures quality control criteria are met and adheres to lab policies on hazardous substances.
• Records documentation to comply with regulations.
• Performs instrument maintenance and logs activities.
• Instructs and trains rotating residents, students, physicians and new staff in testing procedures.
