Job summary

Mercy Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the hospital's laboratory team for the night shift. The role focuses on collecting, processing and analyzing blood, body fluids, tissues, and excrements, and reporting results in compliance with hospital, state and federal standards.

You will demonstrate knowledge of lab procedures, ensure accurate results, and work as part of a patient-centered care team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with clinical internship in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• ASCP or NCA certification - or board eligible and must become certified within one year.
• One year hospital lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates working knowledge of laboratory procedures and processes.
• Reports accurate patient laboratory results with minimum errors.
• Reviews results based on knowledge of age related normals.
• Uses quality control results in determining validity of patient results.
