Qualifications

• Degree in a laboratory science (chemical, physical, biological, or clinical) or medical laboratory technology required.
• Certification as (or eligible to become certified) MLT/MLS required.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Ability to be mobile.
• Dexterity and ability to differentiate colors.
• Ability to read and write small letters and numbers with extreme attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Punctual attendance at assigned work location.
• Compliance with OSHA regulations and CDC safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests and procedures to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Operates across all lab areas (blood bank, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology).
• Ensures work lists are completed promptly.
• Verifies results are appropriate for all age groups before posting to records.
• Maintains analyzer equipment and supplies.
• Maintains bench documentation (temperature charts, QC logs, maintenance logs).
• Maintains competency across laboratory areas.
