A rural hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist to provide diagnostic information through clinical lab tests. The position requires a degree in medical technology, completion of an internship, and certification. Responsibilities include performing lab procedures and meticulous handling of samples in compliance with health standards.

Scheurer Health, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a self-motivated and reliable MLT, or MLS to join our Laboratory team. This position provides information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses following established guidelines and quality control standards.
Responsibilities
Performs all clinical laboratory procedures
Knowledge of Analyzer operation, maintenance and troubleshooting and perform quality control
Accurate examination and analysis of specimen samples
Careful handling of infectious material
Collection of blood and other specimens under aseptic conditions
Accurate recording of test instruments and judicious use of materials
Demonstrate competency in Blood Bank, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Phlebotomy
Follow hospital policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements
Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or related fields from an accredited institution
Completion of an internship program from an approved school of medical technology or school of clinical laboratory science
American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) MT certification, American Medical Technologists (AMT) or eligible to take MT certification exam and must be certified within one years of hire
Medical Technician
Associate degree from an accredited Medical Technician program
Completion of clinical internship
ASCP MT certification or eligible to take the exam and must be certified within one year of hire
