Position Summary:

Medical Technologist at Clinch Valley Medical Center

• Assist phlebotomists with specimen collection
• Perform laboratory tests ordered by physicians or contracted labs
• Process and verify sample quality and identification during testing and reporting
• Correlate and verify results, including stat tests, timed specimens, drug levels, and panic values; communicate results to units or physicians as needed
• Manage specimen storage and arrange for delayed testing or external referral
• Conduct daily quality control for all tests according to policies
• Assist with secretarial duties as required
• Answer phones promptly and professionally
• Ensure timely reporting of outpatient results to physicians and medical records

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's of Science in Medical Laboratory Science required.

Experience: 1-2 years preferred; candidates without experience will be considered individually.
