Job summary

Liberty Regional Medical Center in Georgia seeks a Medical Technologist to perform clinical laboratory procedures, QA, and instrument maintenance. You will analyze specimens across neonate to geriatric populations and communicate findings to the medical team, ensuring confidentiality and safety.

The role may include day-to-day supervision of five technicians and requires a four-year degree in medical technology or related field, with certification by AMT, ASCP, HHS, NCA, or ISCLT preferred.

Qualifications

  • Clinical competence in medical technology preferred.
  • Medical Technology Certification required by AMT, ASCP, HHS, NCA, or ISCLT.
  • Minimum of one year experience in laboratory science.
  • Basic computer skills.

JOB SUMMARYThis position is for a medical technologist whose responsibility is to perform clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance and instrument maintenance. Analyzes specimens and obtains data in for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Provides safe and efficient laboratory services to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patient populations. Communicates with medical staff, other departments and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. May provide day-to day direction to five (5) technical and skilled personnel. The position reports to the laboratory supervisor.JOB QUALIFICATIONSMinimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with concentration in medical technology or related field preferred.Formal Training: Clinical competence in medical technology preferred.Licensure, Certifications & Registration: Medical Technology Certification required by AMT, ASCP, HHS, NCA, or ISCLT. Annual recertification preferred.Work Experience: Advanced clinical laboratory testing skills in blood banking, chemistry, bacteriology, hematology, and serology. Minimum of one (1) year experience in laboratory science. Basic computer skills necessary.
