The MSPCA-Angell Medical Technologist position involves collaborating with veterinary staff and the Pathology team to deliver high quality clinical and anatomical laboratory services. Responsibilities include testing, instrument maintenance, specimen processing, LIS data entry, and mentoring junior staff.
Compensation ranges from $37 to $40 per hour with a full-time schedule (4 days, 10-hour shifts) including rotating weekends and holidays.
This is a full-time 40 hour a week position. Rotating Weekend and Holidays (Schedule is 4 days, 10 hour shifts)
THE POSITION:
The Medical Technologist (MT) works in collaboration with the veterinary staff and the Pathology team to provide Angell clientele with high quality clinical and anatomical laboratory services. These laboratory services include various technical, customer service, computer entry, clerical related procedures, specimen processing and low to high complexity laboratory testing procedures. It also includes providing procedure related information in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, specimen requirements and other related laboratory areas as requested on patient specimens, control materials and proficiency samples.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Graduate of accredited CLSI Laboratory Science program with certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Technician or Specialist by ASCP or other nationally recognized credentialing agency. Candidates with a B.S. or A.S., comparable experience working in a veterinary or human laboratory and 1 to 3 years bench experience will also be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of MT/CLS clinical laboratory internship or 1-3 years of Clinical or Veterinary Laboratory experience preferred.
