Pay Range: $46.28 per hour

Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the performance of routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood, urine, tissues, body fluids and other specimens to assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients.

Recognizes results or problems that require referral to a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or sciences.
• Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques obtained through a formal four-year college/university program.
• Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technology (ASCP or equivalent preferred).
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
• Certifications and Licenses required if applicable.

Scheduling & Work Environment

Non-exempt position requirements; evening shift; environment may be well-lighted, sometimes poorly ventilated and intermittently noisy. Exposure to infectious materials, stains, caustic and toxic agents; occasional electrical hazards. Moderate physical activity including sitting, standing, or walking; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
