Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY seeks a Medical Technician for the 2nd shift to perform clinical laboratory procedures, quality control, and instrument maintenance under supervision. The role reports through the Coordinator to the Laboratory Director and requires collaboration with intra- and interdepartmental staff.

A bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field with ASCP certification or equivalent is required, plus 1 year of training and 2–3 years of experience;

• One year of training in an approved medical technology program; plus 2–3 years of experience.
• Supervisory abilities must be exhibited.

Description

Under the supervision of the designated Coordinator, performs clinical laboratory procedures, quality control, and instrument maintenance. The position reports to the Laboratory Director through the Coordinator. The Medical Technologist also maintains cooperative working relationships with intradepartmental and interdepartmental personnel.

• A Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or an affiliated field with a certification as a medical technologist by registry board of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent.
• One year of training in a school of medical technology approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent. Plus two to three years experience is required. Supervisory abilities must be exhibited.
