Job description

Under the direction of the RN Supervisor or Site Manager, the Medical Tech supports patients by actively participating in the interdisciplinary care team and assisting providers in delivering primary care services. This is a full-time or part-time, benefit-eligible position, typically working Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm, with occasional evenings until 7/8pm and occasional Saturdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Schedules may be subject to change.

• Pay starts at $17/hour, with potential increases based on experience.

Minimum Requirements :

Completion of an entry-level medical training program such as medical assisting, nursing assisting, or medical technician. Experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare patient charts, review population health management systems, incomplete orders, referrals, and gather necessary information. Record data in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Manage clinic flow and greet patients, assessing their needs and directing them to examination rooms.
• Follow rooming procedures, including asking about recent ER/hospital visits, taking vital signs, and performing screening tests.
• Record visit details in the EHR, obtain lab specimens, perform tests, and document results.
• Prepare specimens for transportation, complete forms, and coordinate transport.
• Perform routine testing such as hearing and vision screenings.
• Assist with medical records, manage telephone inquiries, and conduct patient call-backs as needed.
• Support nurses and providers with incoming patient information.
• Stay informed of relevant regulations, laws, and policies, ensuring compliance in services provided.
• Interact professionally and respectfully with co-workers, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
