Compass Connections is hiring at our Cameron facility in Los Fresnos, TX for a health care role supporting children in care. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with EMT/MA/CNA credentials and a year of relevant experience.

You will manage medications, records, and care coordination while complying with HIPAA and program policies. The role demands teamwork, strong communication, and ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meet and maintain federal/state regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate with health care providers as liaison between medical and residential services.
• Maintain medication inventory, ensure items dated and properly stored.
• Dispose of unused/expired medications properly.
• Maintain electronic medical records and Medical Portal; update MAR for each child.
• Administer prescribed meds as directed; follow physician orders.
• Schedule transportation for medical appointments; assist in intake process.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and Compass policies.
• Adhere to scheduled hours; work evenings, weekends, holidays as needed.
• Apply positive behavior management and de-escalation techniques.

Meet and maintain all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.2. Communicate effectively with health care providers regarding care for service population and be a liaison between the medical and residential services divisions.3. Maintain adequate inventory of all medications/supplies, ensure medications/supplies are within date and properly stored.4. Ensure proper disposal of unused and expired medications.5. Maintain electronic medical health care records and federal Medical Portal.6. Develop and maintain an accurate medication administration record (MAR) for each child.7. Administer prescription and over the counter medication to children as directed by Lead Medical Coordinator8. Carry out all treatment orders as directed by physician or advanced practice provider (APP) to ensure physician and/or APP orders are implemented in a timely manner consistent with clinical protocols and the direction of the supervising provider.9. Assist in daily MAR audits, ensuring proper documentation. Reporting all medication errors to Lead Medical Coordinator.10. Compile daily medical lists to be distributed appropriately.11. Assist in scheduling transport of children to and from the on-campus clinic for medical appointments.12. Maintain first aid kits per licensing standards.13. Assist in medical intake process.14. Maintain confidentiality of health care records and information in keeping with HIPAA, Protected Health Information (PHI) requirements and Compass Connections confidentiality protocol and procedures.15. Adhere to scheduled hours pertaining to position, work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed, requested, or deemed appropriate by Lead Medical Coordinator and Regional Director.16. Know, understand, and apply positive behavior management techniques including verbal redirection, de-escalation, and containment.17. Know and recognize the signs of abuse, neglect, and exploitation and sexually provocative behavior and implement professional response, reporting and documenting procedures.18. Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work using sound judgment.19. Implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.20. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.21. Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.Other Responsibilities:1. Carry out established health care plans for service population as prescribed by an advanced practice provider or physician and apply best practice guidelines.2. Complete accurate documentation in accordance with agency policies and procedures, contract and regulatory requirements and standards and program timeline requirements.3. Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program and federal partners.4. Other duties as assigned.Requirements:1.
