Job summary

The Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a Medical Technician to assist Physicians and Mid-Level Practitioners with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients. The role includes maintaining patient flow, rooms, and performing basic clinical tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Qualified candidates typically have a high school diploma, 1–2 years of medical office experience, and CPR certification. CCMA/CNA preferred and experience with practice management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient flow and keep exam/treatment rooms ready.
• Review patient history and coordinate care.

• Suture and staple removal as required.
• Assist with splinting/casting and DME applications.
• Clean and stock exam rooms; pack/clean medical instruments.
• Ensure OSHA and safety regulations are followed.
• Assist physicians and mid-level practitioners with patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Medical Technician role is responsible for assisting Physicians and Mid-Level Practitioners with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients at The Orthopaedic Institute.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintains patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.
• Review patient history
• Order X-rays
• Draw up injections
• Wound care
• Suture and staple removal
• Splinting/casting
• DME application
• Cleaning/stocking exam rooms
• Medical instrument packing and cleaning
• Ensure blood borne pathogen, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and other governmental regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure all safety regulations are adhered to.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE:

CCMA or CNA preferred. CPR certified preferred

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years of medical office experience preferred

SKILLS:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Comfortable working in fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient with computer skills including experience with practice management software desired.
