Job summary

The Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a Medical Technician to assist physicians and mid-level practitioners in evaluating, managing, and treating patients. The role involves maintaining patient flow, preparing exam rooms, and performing basic clinical tasks in a fast-paced orthopedic office.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of medical office experience, with CCMA/CNA and CPR certification preferred, and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Occasional travel to other TOI locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and OSHA compliance in the office.
• Travel to existing or new TOI locations as required.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Medical Technician role is responsible for assisting Physicians and Mid-Level Practitioners with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients at The Orthopaedic Institute.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintains patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.
• Review patient history
• Order X-rays
• Draw up injections
• Wound care
• Suture and staple removal
• Splinting/casting
• DME application
• Cleaning/stocking exam rooms
• Medical instrument packing and cleaning
• Ensure blood borne pathogen, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and other governmental regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure all safety regulations are adhered to.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE:

CCMA or CNA preferred. CPR certified preferred

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years of medical office experience preferred

SKILLS:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Comfortable working in fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient with computer skills including experience with practice management software desired.
