Medical Technician – KL Microbiology Lab

Location: Rehab & Pathology, Williamsville, NY

Work Type: Full-Time, Shift 2 (Scheduled Hours: 2 p.m. – 10 p.m., 3 p.m. – 11 p.m., 4 p.m. – 12 a.m.)

Job Responsibilities

To receive, order, and prepare laboratory samples for analysis as well as perform laboratory tests and procedures on patient specimens in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner under the supervision of a Clinical Lab Scientist, Laboratory Supervisor/Manager, or Pathologist.

Education and Credentials

• Associate of Applied Science in Medical Technology (AAS) or as outlined in NYSDOE license requirements.
• Lab Technician or Lab Technologist license within 9 months, or Lab Technician limited permit.
• NYS DOE Clinical laboratory technician/technologist full license upon hire or lead with a limited permit pending full licensure.
• If working with a limited permit, must obtain full licensure within 9 months; trainee may start training with a non‑licensed LIS security until a Medical Technician NYS license is granted and verified.

Experience

1 year of experience in a Clinical Laboratory is preferred.
