Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English (per 38 U.S.C. 7402(d)).
  • Experience performing phlebotomy on patients.
  • At GS-4 level: 6 months general and 6 months specialized experience or relevant education or a combination.
  • At GS-5 level: 1 year of specialized experience or a bachelor's degree with relevant coursework or a combination.

Competencies: Computer skills, customer service, patient care, quality assurance, specimen collection.

Physical Requirements: Lifting over 20 lbs, pushing over 100 lbs, long standing, bending, walking, manual dexterity.

Duties

  • Blood draws via venipuncture, verifying patient ID, maintaining supplies.
  • Responding to inquiries, attending training, training new staff.
  • Delivering and processing specimens, following protocols for transport and storage.
  • Assisting during bone marrow biopsies, detecting quality issues, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performing other assigned duties, full-time schedule, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.

Note: This is not a virtual position; relocation required. Promotion to GS-5 based on performance and availability of higher-grade work.
