Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center in Washington, DC, seeks an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (PRN-Days) to provide direct and individualized nursing care for adult medical-surgical, neurological, and orthopedic patients. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams ensures patient safety and high-quality care in a fast-paced setting.

The RN will assess and plan care, administer medications, educate patients and families, and document in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Valid DC RN license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 2 years of acute care experience required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for medical-surgical, neuro, and ortho patients.
• Monitor vital signs, telemetry, neurological status, pain, and post-operative recovery.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments per physician orders.
• Provide care for post-surgical orthopedic and neurological patients.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge plans.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and participate in rounds and care coordination.
