Job summary

CVP is recruiting Medical Support Assistants to support the La Junta Outpatient Clinic located at 1100 Carson Ave, Suite 104, La Junta, CO 81050. Clinic hours are Monday - Friday, 800 am - 430 pm, excluding federal holidays. Must reside within 50 miles of the location.

Position pays hourly at 19.68/hr plus health & wellness benefits. Responsibilities include scheduling, ROI support, EMR scanning, insurance processing, and patient transportation coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to pass a required security clearance (US Citizenship).
• Must reside within 50 miles of La Junta, CO area.
• Minimum six months of customer service experience.
• Typing test required with 50 wpm accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments and consults; enter no-show information; prepare for clinic visits.
• Provide general reception support in ROI offices at medical centers.
• Scan insurance cards and complete insurance buffer (ICB) encounters.
• Scan records into an EMR to support HIM functions.
• Make and answer phone calls.
• Review reimbursement requests and reconcile travel/voucher payments.
• Review ambulance claims for eligibility and payment.
• Arrange transportation for eligible patients with clinical teams.

CVP is recruiting Medical Support Assistants (MSA) to support the La Junta Outpatient Clinic located at 1100 Carson Ave, Suite 104, La Junta, CO 81050. Clinic hours are Monday - Friday, 800 am - 430 pm, excluding federal holidays. Must reside within 50 miles of the location.

Position Pays

Hourly Pay $19.68/hr

Health & Wellness (H&W) $5.09/hr (H&W will be prorated based on enrollment in the benefits offered, including automatic enrollment in employer-paid plans.)

• Schedule, cancel, and re-schedule patient appointments and/or consults; enter no-show information; prepare for clinic visits; and monitor appointments and consults.
• Provide general reception support in the Release of Information (ROI) offices at various medical centers.
• Scan insurance cards, protect secure information, and complete all insurance buffer (ICB) encounters required by ICB.
• Scanning of records and documents into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to support HIM functions at medical centers.
• Make outgoing and receive incoming phone calls.
• Review requests for reimbursement of travel costs and reconcile claims/vouchers for payments using electronic systems.
• Review ambulance claims for eligibility and payment.
• Assist in arranging transportation for eligible patients and work with clinical teams to request appropriate mode of transportation.
• Ability to pass a required level of security clearance (US Citizenship Required).
• Utilize computer programs appropriately, usually involving spreadsheets, word processing.
• Ability to type 50 wpm with minimum errors (Typing test required).
• High School education or GED equivalent.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, hospital terminology and/or clinics.
• Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements; will be provided training by the SFVAHS on appointment management, VA policy and procedures.
• Minimum six (6) months of customer service experience.

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
• Lift up to 20 lbs.
• Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
• Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
