Job summary

The Boston Medical Spanish Center (BMSC), affiliated with AES World Languages and Cultures Institute, seeks enthusiastic Spanish instructors to teach online medical Spanish courses and in-person classes in Boston on a per-program, W2 basis.

Teach via Zoom for online programs and at partner sites for in-person programs; most classes are evenings and weekends, with typical programs offering 10 contact hours and instructors teaching 80–120 hours per year.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience required.
• High fluency in Spanish and conversational English proficiency required.
• Available in and around Boston for in-person programs.
• Responsive and professional communication required.
• Energetic and outgoing personality required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Familiarity with regional variances of Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Creating their own lesson plans as needed.
• Creating and managing a Google Classroom for their course.
• Orienting to core administrative and course materials.
• Communicating class information to students.
• Occasional meetings with program managers.
• For in-person classes: arranging and resetting classrooms as needed.
