Job summary

MSA Hospice of the Upstate, part of the Medical Services of America family, is seeking a full-time MSW for our Hospice location in Greenville and Seneca, SC. This role focuses on providing social work services within an interdisciplinary team, supporting patients and families according to the physician’s plan of treatment.

The position requires a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work and current SC licensure, with hospice experience preferred; a valid driver's license is also required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Currently licensed to practice as a social worker in South Carolina (SC).
• Minimum of one-year Hospice experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides social work services in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment.
• Works with the interdisciplinary team to assess and support patients and families.
• Provides assessment for grief and bereavement counseling as appropriate.
• Serves as a liaison with other community resources.

What You'll Do:

• Provides social work services in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment.
• Works with the interdisciplinary team directly, or through coordination of team members, to provide appropriate assessment and support patients and families.
• Provides assessment for normal and complicated grief and provides bereavement counseling as appropriate.
• Serves as a liaison with other community resources.

Job Requirements:

• Master's or Bachelor's level social work degree from a school of social work accredited or approved by the Council of Social Work Education.
• Currently licensed to practice as a social worker in the state of SC.
• Minimum of one-year Hospice experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
