Job summary

Bestica is hiring a Medical Simulation Operator to provide services at C-STARS Cincinnati, University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves operating high‑fidelity patient simulators, designing and analyzing simulation scenarios, supporting education and training programs, and collaborating with USAFSAM and other stakeholders.

This is a full‑time, day shift position with negligible travel. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 16:30.

Qualifications

• NRP certification is required.
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• RN level preferred for better fit.

Responsibilities

• Operate state-of-the-art learning management systems and audiovisual solutions.
• Provide technical and analytic support for the Team Training Program at USAFSAM.
• Design, run, and evaluate simulation scenarios and collect performance data.
• Develop metrics to validate a simulation-based team-training program.
• Support digital video recording, maintenance of equipment, and analysis of training measures.
• Prepare training environments, operate simulation equipment, and recover equipment after sessions.
• Conduct orientation for staff on simulation equipment and environment.
• Assist in daily operations, program administration, and procedural troubleshooting.
• Develop training, safety, and maintenance materials for simulation equipment.
• Provide guidance on future site expansion and high-fidelity simulation recommendations.
• Ensure training outcomes meet course and skill sustainment requirements.
• Maintain reports on supplies and equipment needs.
• Create troubleshooting documents, checklists, and lesson plans for simulation equipment.
• Support USAFSAM simulation research projects within the scope of the task order.
• Assist with train-the-trainer activities and basic equipment troubleshooting.
• Participate in operational exercises to gain professional development.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word processing software and SharePoint applications.
• National Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification (required). Paramedic equivalent medical knowledge; RN level preferred.
• Basic Life Support – Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP) certification.
• Five years of clinical experience in military or civilian settings.
• At least 2 years of experience programming human patient simulators (primarily Laerdal, Gaumard, CAE).
• Experience in course development and educational methodology.
• Knowledge of military trauma clinical skills, procedures, and processes (AFMS Clinical Practice Guidelines).
• Understanding of applicable Air Force and professional standards; completion of USAFSAM orientation programs.
• Non‑Disclosure Agreement in place with employer; copy to Program Manager.
• Able to lift < 50 pounds and move simulation equipment, work in low‑light high‑volume environments, and manage varying weather conditions.

Highly Desired Qualifications

• One year of military medical or deployment experience.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems, audio/visual solutions, moulage creation, hyper‑realistic simulators, and task trainers.
