Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for a qualified Medical Services Supervisorto join our Park Place Adult Residential Treatment Facility in Tacoma, WA.

Scope:

Oversee operations of the med room. Work closely with nursing and medical services to ensure residents of Park Place Adult Residential Treatment Facility receive top medical care. Oversee med techs training, scheduling, and supervising. Serves as a member of an organization that welcomes, engages, and serves individuals with complex wellness needs.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and monitor medications.
  • Ensure follow-up on referrals and facilitate continuity of care and oversee the administration of all medications at Park Place.
  • Administratively Oversee Medication Monitors, Medical Assistants, and LPN's
  • Provide activities designed to enhance medication adherence and education.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision for assigned staff.
  • Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.
  • Participate in training, scheduling, and overseeing the daily operations of all Park Place med techs.
  • Provide services to ensure continuity of care with residential and community facilities.
  • Maintain clinical records and provide reports in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings and activities as required.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform routine quality assurance functions to ensure medication administration policies and procedures are followed.
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to increasing competence and knowledge within the behavioral health field.
  • Develop, review, and revise policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements, including Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Revised Code of Washington (RCW), Medicaid regulations, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirements, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate in the development and completion of program goals and objectives. Ensure the integration of nursing services into the total program.
  • Responsible for the med room Quality Improvement program/projects. This includes development, tracking monitoring, reporting, and collaboration with CLR Quality Improvement Department.
  • Ensure all assigned employees understand how to use the Electronic MAR.
  • May be required to work evenings and/or weekends depending upon program needs.
  • This position is responsible for scheduling the med techs and med room staff. This may include on call work and/or being deployed off shift to cover shifts if no other staff is available.
  • In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • Demonstrates ability to assess and document urgent and ongoing medication issues associated with residents.
  • Use "recovery" language (ex. respectful, hopeful, person-centered, non-judgmental).
  • Manage scheduling
  • Ability to utilize general medical equipment to assess medical needs
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop plans for improvement and implement new strategies for better quality medication services.
  • Demonstrates ability to prepare and administer oral, topical, sprays, medications using the five rights of medication delivery
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure that laboratory tests are ordered, prepared, documented, and sent to the Lab using appropriate agency protocols.
  • Communicates client needs to prescribing staff, medical professional, and/or nursing manager in a timely manner.
  • Schedules medical appointments and communicates the results to the appropriate staff.
  • Demonstrate effective communication both orally and in writing.
  • Ensure documentation and assessments are completed in a time manner, and documented appropriately
  • Demonstrates appropriate confidentiality, boundaries, and values.
  • Demonstrates professional demeanor, behavior, and communication.
  • Promote whole health care as a key to people's recovery and quality of life.
  • Demonstrate empathy, hopefulness, and resourcefulness in communication with others
Qualification
  • High school graduate or GED. One year relevant experience in a med tech capacity and/or equivalent position that is responsible for overseeing medication management of psychiatric clients. Prefer significant experience in the provision of psychiatric services.
  • Medication Assistant Certification Endorsement (MACE) or equivalent credential
  • Demonstrated ability to work with mentally ill individuals.
  • Skilled in MS Word and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Valid driver’s license; proof of insurance.
