Job Description: Medical Scribe

The medical scribe shadows resident and attending physicians, completing all documentation tasks through real-time, on-site medical transcription. The role ensures thoroughness of medical documentation, coordinates, and integrates medical tests, labs, and imaging for easy access by physicians.

1. Shadows physicians during patient encounters, ensuring medical documentation complies with all guidelines. Takes notes and completes the medical chart.
2. Performs random chart reviews for quality assurance of medical documentation.
3. Maintains chart deficiencies below 5%.
4. Assists physicians in communicating patient care plans with other healthcare professionals.
5. Ensures efficient patient care flow to maintain high quality and maximize efficiency, monitored through semi-annual reviews.
6. Provides timely submission and retrieval of tests on behalf of physicians.
7. Performs other assigned tasks.

Minimum Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: Real-time scribe, medical, or related chart/record creation experience

Licensure: None

Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary role involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel to attend meetings and programs may be required.
