Job summary

OrthoVirginia is seeking a Medical Scribe to work alongside orthopedic physicians and providers, documenting patient encounters, coordinating referrals, and entering orders in the EMR. This role supports efficient clinic operations and provides hands-on exposure to orthopedic care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in healthcare, science, or related field.
• Strong typing skills (60+ wpm).
• Experience with medical terminology and EMR systems is helpful; Epic experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, kinesiology or related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Documenting patient encounters accurately and in real time in the EMR.
• Capturing patient histories, exam findings, assessments, treatment plans, and other key clinical information.
• Entering provider-directed orders, referrals, imaging, therapies, and related services.
• Supporting efficient clinical workflows and a positive patient experience.
• Collaborating with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA and documentation standards.
• Completing required training and supporting clinic operations as needed.
