Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Scribe to capture accurate documentation of patient visits into the EMR, assist physicians with basic patient care, and help manage patient flow in our urgent care setting.

You will support lab processes, ensure DOH compliance, escort patients, maintain supplies, and provide compassionate service while upholding high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED; undergraduate degree a plus.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• English language skills required; bilingual preferred depending on site.
• Strong attention to detail; able to work in fast-paced urgent care.
• Computer proficiency and basic life support (BLS) certification helpful at time of hire.
• Flexible with full-time schedule including weekends.
• Ability to lift light to moderate weights and maintain pace in urgent care.

Responsibilities

• Capture accurate documentation of the patient visit into the EMR.
• Assist the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures.
• Assist site management with directing patient flow, inventory, and following up on labs.
• Ensure site lab compliance with DOH regulations.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays or other facilities on site.
• Maintain a quick pace in a fast-paced urgent care facility for the duration of scheduled shift.
• Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals via Aftercare.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.
• Help maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.
• Ensure the site is fully stocked with supplies.
