Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vitals (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and document in patient charts.
• Give instructions to patients as directed by physicians and transcribe patient appointments.
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information are filed and available in patients’ medical records prior to appointments.
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments and prepare sterilization as required.
• Complete position responsibilities by following established guidelines & protocols within the appropriate time frame.
• Manage stress appropriately.
• Greet patients, customers and visitors correctly, pleasantly and in a timely manner.
• Assist/direct patients and customers with questions.
• Demonstrate ability to serve diverse populations in terms of age, gender, socio-economic status, ethnicity/culture, language, health status, housing status and compliance with laws.

Job description
