Job Description SummaryResponsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
Job Responsibilities- Assist qualified donors in completing screening processes in accordance with SOPs, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screening procedures (blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature). Perform finger stick to obtain hematocrit and protein levels.
- After appropriate training, educate new donors on therapeutic products from plasma, screening, tests, appointment system, fees, policies, nutrition, and answer donor questions professionally.
- Register applicants and transfer donors as trained, based on operational needs.
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Monitor donors for reactions during and after pheresis and notify staff if needed.
- Report donor flow issues to supervisor.
- Accurately record donor data in the electronic management system per SOPs.
- Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
- Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available.
- Follow all HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety.
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
- Cross-train in other areas as needed.
- Possibly utilize bilingual skills to meet organizational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three months experience in clerical, customer service, or medical environment, or equivalent education and experience.
- Basic math skills.
Working Conditions- Ability to follow instructions and observe safety protocols.
- Ability to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment.
- Stand and walk frequently; reach, bend, kneel, manual dexterity required.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Fast-paced environment with interruptions.
- Exposure to chemicals, temperatures, blood-borne pathogens.
- Wear PPE as required.
- Extended hours and overtime may be necessary.
