Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
- Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature measurements.
- Perform finger sticks to obtain samples for hematocrit and total protein levels.
- Educate new donors about the donation process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, and nutrition.
- Register applicants and transfer donors as needed, following appropriate training.
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff.
- Monitor donors during and after the pheresis process for reactions and notify staff if necessary.
- Record donor data accurately in the electronic management system.
- Understand policies related to hyper immune programs, if applicable.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting safety at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
- Cross-train in other areas as needed, with bilingual skills potentially required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three months experience in a clerical or customer service role, preferably in a medical or health setting, or equivalent education and experience.
- Basic math skills.
