Responsibilities include:
- Greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.
- Assisting qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This involves assessing health history, medical questions, performing health screenings (blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature), and performing finger sticks for hematocrit and protein levels.
- After training, educating new donors on therapeutic products made from plasma, explaining the screening process, tests, appointment system, fees, policies, nutrition, and answering questions professionally.
- Registering and transferring donors based on operational needs and training completion.
- Answering calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Monitoring donors for reactions during and after pheresis and notifying staff if needed.
- Alerting supervisors of donor flow issues.
- Accurately recording donor data in the electronic management system as per SOPs.
- Understanding policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
- Maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring supplies are available, and following HSE and OSHA policies to promote safety.
- Maintaining confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
- Cross-training in other areas may be required; bilingual skills may be needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three months experience in clerical or customer service roles, preferably in a medical or health provider setting, or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
