Job description

Corcept: Leading the Way in Cortisol Modulation

Corcept is at the forefront of researching and developing cortisol modulators, molecules that regulate cortisol activity at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). We have discovered over 1,000 proprietary cortisol modulators to date.

In 2012, we received FDA approval for Korlym (mifepristone), the first treatment approved for hypercortisolism (Cushing’s syndrome).

Our team continues to explore cortisol modulation as a treatment for serious diseases, with more than 30 ongoing studies across endocrinology, oncology, metabolism, and neurology. We are committed to advancing this field.

The Oncology MSL Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established pharmaceutical company that may develop a first-in-class oncology product. The initial Oncology MSL team, formed in 2024, is composed of experienced professionals focused on thought leader engagement, insight gathering, and scientific education. The role covers the Northeast Region, including Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Maine.

The MSL will uphold the highest ethical and professional standards, adhering to all guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities
  1. Engage in scientific discussions with thought leaders in gynecological oncology and other malignancies, enhancing their understanding of cortisol modulation in oncology.
  2. Educate healthcare professionals on disease states involving cortisol modulation and provide support as needed.
  3. Discuss Corcept’s clinical and non-clinical data and development plans.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with thought leaders, patient advocacy groups, and oncology organizations like GOG and ASCO within the oncology community.
  5. Gather and communicate insights from the medical community to inform company decisions, ensuring compliance and clarity.
  6. Support clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, scientific communications, publications, education, advisory boards, and congresses.
  7. Maintain expertise in relevant therapeutic areas.
  8. Collaborate within Medical Affairs and across other functions such as Clinical Development, Market Access, and Marketing.
  9. Travel approximately 50-60% of the time.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Technical Proficiencies
  1. Strong scientific knowledge in oncology, including treatment landscapes, NCCN guidelines, and clinical trial data.
  2. Core competencies: curiosity, adaptability, teamwork, communication, results-oriented, decision-making, and scientific expertise.
  3. Business acumen across drug development functions.
  4. Excellent project management skills and resource identification.
  5. Ability to adapt to change and prioritize effectively.
  6. Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Experience with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and familiarity with Veeva CRM, Vault, SharePoint, or BOX is preferred.
  8. Must have a valid driver’s license per company policy.
Preferred Education and Experience
  1. PhD, MD, PharmD, MSN, PA, or NP required.
  2. At least 5 years of MSL experience, with 2+ years in oncology.
  3. Level of seniority (MSL or Sr. MSL) based on experience.
Compensation

The expected pay range is $172,300 - $253,300, depending on factors like location, experience, and education.
