Take a look at this opportunity with our Medical Affairs team, which is seeking a passionate individual, to fill the role of our Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Neonatal and Pediatric Nutrition. This role has responsibility for developing and implementing programs to foster customer development and engagement and to enhance the skills of Prolacta personnel with a goal of increasing productivity and positively impacting sales results. In addition, this position will interface with customers globally as a nutritional expert in the use of our products and may research potential causes for product complaints.

How you will contribute

This role will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our organization and develop your professional skills by…

  • Developing relationships with various HCPs and providing them with credible, fair, and balanced, scientific information about Prolacta products
  • Creating strategies to develop selected HCPs as Key Opinion Leaders depending on their specific interests, enthusiasm for, or experience with our products.
  • The MSL will be capable of issues management and addressing questions about safety and usage of Prolacta’s products based on available scientific data.
  • Field-based activity planning will be done in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Team, along with the commercial and marketing teams, and will involve identifying a focus of effort and the metrics for company success. The focus of effort may vary from time to time and the activity plan will be flexible to accommodate for this.
  • Maintain expertise on company products and therapeutic areas. This will involve regular, extensive reviews of the literature, developing presentations, assisting with publications and medical communications, and participation in scientific meetings. The MSL will attend appropriate scientific congresses and conferences, in concert with other members of the Medical Affairs Division.
  • The MSL will maintain clinical certification and licensure and achieve and maintain MSL Board certification when eligible.
  • Provide post-conference report on pertinent nutritional information for educational purposes.
  • Gather/compile competitive intelligence on other products
  • Participate in the Prolacta Clinical Advisory Board (PCAB)
  • Provide lectures on published clinical data to customers globally and as requested
  • Support select customers globally with in-service training when requested
  • Provide training to internal customers
  • Provide clinical information and slides to speakers as requested
  • Attend required education and training (including speaker and other training as needed)
  • Co-travel with sales team members globally as needed
  • Provide ongoing education of recent publications with written summary/annotation as requested
  • Act as liaison between Prolacta and customer when product concerns arise
  • Participate in regularly scheduled Prolacta initiated meetings (in person or remotely)
  • Provide clinical support to key accounts globally by traveling with CSS/KAM to high potential hospitals.
  • Work closely with marketing team members to ensure a thorough understanding of products in the marketplace
  • Assist Sales Training Department with training to support tactical implementation of marketing strategy
  • Assist in development of nutrition related materials in concert with Marketing and other management as needed
  • Work with Senior Management to develop nutritional product training strategy.
  • Access resources to keep up-to-date on industry best demonstrated practices
  • Track and understand neonatal and pediatric nutrition practices globally – be able to adapt talks to local practices

What you bring to the role

• Bachelor’s degree required with 5 or more years of professional experience in neonatal nutrition

• Clinical background in nutrition required (RN, RD, Rph, PharmD)

• Author/Coauthor of Peer reviewed publications on human milk-based fortification preferred

• Successful healthcare industry training or marketing experience a plus Clinical use and experience with the Exclusive Human Milk Diet
