Job summary

The Medical Affairs Company (TMAC) is seeking a Medical Science Liaison for the Great Lakes region focused on epilepsy and rare syndromes. This field-based role partners with healthcare professionals to exchange scientific data, build relationships, and support research initiatives that improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include maintaining clinical expertise, delivering balanced information, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to inform strategy and education.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DO, or DPM) required.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Affairs experience in biopharmaceuticals.
• Residence within the assigned territory and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel 60-80% within the region.
• Experience in neurology, epilepsy, or rare diseases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise in epilepsy and rare syndromes, including new data and guidelines.
• Build and manage trusted relationships with KOLs, HCPs, investigators, health systems, payers, and patient groups.
• Deliver balanced scientific information through discussions, presentations, and medical inquiries.
• Gather and communicate field insights to inform Medical Affairs strategies and communications.
• Support IIS and investigator-initiated studies from feasibility to publication.
• Represent Company at scientific congresses, advisory boards and investigator meetings.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, RWE, Market Access, and Commercial teams.

About the Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Great Lakes serves as a scientific and clinical expert for Company's Epilepsy and Rare Syndromes portfolio. This field-based role develops and maintains relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, facilitates scientific exchange, generates medical insights, and supports initiatives that improve patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise in epilepsy and rare syndromes, including emerging clinical data, treatment guidelines, and competitive developments.
• Build and manage trusted relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers, investigators, health systems, payers, and patient advocacy organizations.
• Deliver balanced scientific and clinical information through educational discussions, presentations, and responses to medical inquiries.
• Gather and communicate actionable field insights to inform Medical Affairs strategies and scientific communications.
• Support research collaborations, including Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), from feasibility assessment through publication.
• Represent Company at scientific congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and educational programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Real-World Evidence, Market Access, and Commercial partners.

Qualifications

Required

• Doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DO, or DPM).
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Affairs experience within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Residence within the assigned territory.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel 60-80% within the region.
• Experience in neurology, epilepsy, rare diseases, or related therapeutic areas.

• Prior product launch experience.
• Knowledge of clinical research, clinical trials, and health economics.
