Job summary

Sarepta is seeking a Medical Science Liaison to advance neurology and pediatrics programs. The role covers IL, MI, IN, WI with extensive travel and close collaboration with HCPs to share scientific data and support Sarepta's portfolio.

The MSL will serve as a scientific resource for national and regional experts, investigators, and physician networks, delivering compliant, non-promotional information and supporting investigator-initiated studies and meetings.

Qualifications

  • Graduate level degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in research and development, clinical trials, medical information, or related areas.
  • Willingness to travel >50% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, establish, and foster peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, clinicians, and researchers.
  • Develop and implement rolling KOL field engagement strategies and execute medical plans within the region.
  • Communicate complex clinical data and product information in a compliant, non-promotional manner.
  • Deliver high-quality scientific presentations to healthcare professionals in various settings.
  • Support investigator-initiated studies and regional research collaborations, including registries and evidence generation activities.

The Importance of the Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a pivotal role in establishing and fostering peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) involved in the management of neuromuscular diseases in line with Sarepta's marketed and investigational product pipeline.

The candidate will have expertise in the field of Neurology / Pediatrics and be a scientific expert regarding Sarepta's portfolio of products. The MSL will serve as a resource for scientific information for key customers, including but not limited to national and regional opinion leaders, investigators, advisors, and physician networks. The successful candidate will be highly driven individual who combines scientific knowledge with customer service, business acumen, and compassion for the patients we serve. This position requires extensive travel and requires the candidate to be located in IL/MI/IN/WI and covering a territory of the following states: IL/MI/IN/WI

The Opportunity to Make a Difference
  • Identifies , establishes , and fosters peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinicians and researchers within disease state areas aligned to Sarepta's marketed and investigational products, e.g. neuromuscular experts
  • Develop s and i mplement s rolling and goal-oriented KOL field engagement strategy that demonstrates ownership of the execution of the medical strategy, projects and initiatives with their region.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of disease-state and product/platform data through c ommunicat ion of complex clinical data and product information in a clear, compliant, and non-promotional manner
  • Collects high quality, actionable feedback and reports trends and unmet medical needs , leading to strategic impact
  • Deliver h igh - quality presentations of scientific data to health care professionals in various settings, including peer-to-peer meetings, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and other appropriate venues to enhance product / disease state knowledge
  • Supports investigator - initiated studies (II S /SRA), regional research collaborations , registries, and other evidence generation activities. A ssess es site capabilities with regard to the effective conduct of these various forms of clinical research , providing feedback to internal teams.
  • Provide professional medical affairs representation and support at global, national and regional scientific meetings, including but not limited to staffing medical affairs booths, gathering competitive intelligence, and partnering to develop post-conference scientific materials
  • Develop and maintain clinical expertise in Duchenne muscular dystrophy through review of scientific journals, recent data disclosures and participation in scientific congresses
  • Maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional field , GMA peers, and other internal team s to provide a compliant, coordinated approach to engagement and effective project management and execution
  • Completes all MSL administrative tasks (Veeva, Concur, compliance wire etc.), initiatives , and projects on time
More about You
  • Graduate level degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in research and development, clinical trials, medical information, clinical practice, or other related position(s) pertinent to our therapeutic areas ; Medical Affairs / MSL experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence, optimism, and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate advanced concepts to stakeholders
  • Familiarity with and track record of complying with industry and regulatory compliance guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaborative team environment
  • Willingness to travel >50% of time
