Medical Review Auditor Analyst (Remote - Charlotte Area)

Job Summary:

Conduent seeks an experienced Medical Review Auditor Analyst to join our team. You will work closely with hospital clients and internal stakeholders, using industry and proprietary tools to ensure successful audits. This role is remote within the Charlotte area, with occasional travel, reporting directly to the Sr. Operations Manager.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, first shift. This is an exempt/salaried position with benefits starting on your first day.

Responsibilities:
  1. Audit medical bills for unrelated charges, overpayments/reimbursements, and accuracy.
  2. Assess payments against regulatory or administrative charges, coding, and billing errors to identify inaccuracies.
  3. Conduct medical audits to identify healthcare overpayments and underpayments.
  4. Apply knowledge of provider billing and patient accounting systems for accurate research on overpayments.
  5. Develop and adhere to client policies, regulations, and guidelines.
  6. Perform other tasks as directed by management.
Requirements:
  1. A bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or related fields is preferred; 10 years of hospital billing experience may substitute.
  2. Hospital business office experience is required.
  3. Strong mathematical skills for accurate audits.
  4. Excellent customer service and collaboration skills across teams nationwide.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software.
  6. Experience in auditing, healthcare, or insurance is desirable but not mandatory.
  7. Background in Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Administration is a plus.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently.
  9. Comfortable working remotely and occasionally onsite at client locations or hospitals.
  10. Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal).
  11. Dependability and willingness to travel; valid driver’s license required.

Pay Transparency:

The estimated salary range for this role is $57,750 - $75,000. Actual salaries vary based on location, experience, and performance. Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a retirement plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
