Job summary

Military Treatment Facilities under DHA is seeking qualified candidates for a Medical Auditor/Trainer role within the Atlantic Network at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Patient Administration Department (PAD). The incumbent will provide expert guidance to improve coding accuracy and will function primarily as an auditor and trainer.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation intended to recruit qualified US citizens with specialized experience in medical records audits and coding analysis.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience which includes auditing complex medical records in a hospital or specialty healthcare clinic to identify and correct coding inaccuracies.
• Analyzing error trends in ICD-10, CPT and E/M documentation to develop actionable reports or training material.
• Delivering expert guidance and technical knowledge to measurably improve coding accuracy.

About the Position

The positions fall under the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Atlantic Network at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Patient Administration Department (PAD) providing guidance and functional expertise to improve coding accuracy, and functioning primarily as a medical auditor/trainer. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience which includes:

• Auditing complex medical records in a hospital or specialty healthcare clinic to identify and correct coding inaccuracies.
• Analyzing error trends in International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision (ICD-10), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Evaluation and Management (E/M) documentation to develop actional reports or/and training material.
• Delivering expert guidance and technical knowledge to measurably improve coding accuracy.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service.
