This entry-level position involves processing all releases of information (ROI), specifically medical record requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while safeguarding patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and regulations.

You will:

  • Process requests for patient health information in line with company and facility policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information.
  • Stay knowledgeable about company and facility software.
  • Follow the company's and facility's code of conduct and policies.
  • Report work, site issues, and volume fluctuations to your manager.
  • Assist with additional duties as needed.
  • Apply medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosures.
  • Manage and safeguard patient records, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Prepare new patient charts and gather documents from paper and electronic sources.
  • Ensure medical records are complete and accurately assembled.
  • Create digital images of paperwork for electronic storage.
  • Respond to requests for patient records, both internally and externally, and transmit them appropriately.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls.
  • Assist with patient walk-ins and administrative tasks like handling faxes, opening mail, and data entry.
  • Meet productivity expectations as specified for the site.
  • Schedule pickups when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to travel between locations as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Comfort with phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Attention to detail and quality, especially regarding medical records.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus points:

  • Healthcare experience.
  • Experience with production or metrics-based work.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Openness to process improvements and feedback.
