Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong organizational and confidentiality skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic file creation and management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical records in accordance with federal and state guidelines and facility policies.
• Comply with the nursing department’s policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
• Retrieve medical records for authorized personnel and ensure proper check-out/check-in.
• Assist with Medicare Certifications and Recertifications and with admissions/transfers as needed.
• Answer telephone inquiries concerning medical records functions.
