Job summary

SAK Management is seeking a Medical Records Director 2 to organize and maintain resident medical records, ensure confidentiality, and support the administrative team. You will handle chart preparation, audits, and correspondence with physicians and nursing staff.

The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, accurate documentation, and professional communication with residents and providers in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with at least 1 year of Medical Records experience.
• Medical Records Clerk Certificate preferred.
• Must meet health assessment requirements including Mantoux tests.
• Ability to read, write and understand English to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, files and maintains medical records daily and upon discharge.
• Maintains chart binders and dividers.
• Rotates medical records annually and tags for shredding.
• Audits physician visits and notifies physicians of required visits.
• Maintains file cabinets, copies, orders, and stocks forms.
• Prepares envelopes for mailing to physicians.
• Tracks return of telephone orders, reviews for signature and date, and files in medical record.
• Faxes and retrieves faxes for nursing department and distributes them.
• Prepares admission/re-admission chart packets.
• Audits charts for proper order and completeness.
• Audits discharge records for completeness before filing.
• Prepares resident hall roster and distributes.
• Photocopies as needed.
• Greets residents, visitors and providers; answers phones.
• Photocopies under HIPAA privacy office direction for insurance or legal requests.
• Maintains resident confidentiality.
• All other duties by Administrative staff.
