Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Tennessee seeks a Health Information Management leader to guide the medical records team in documentation, release of information, coding/research, transcription, and retrieval of records. The role ensures timely, policy-compliant completion with quality oversight and risk management.

Travel to two locations (Lebanon and Tullahoma) 3–4 days weekly; RHIT/RHIA certification is required, EPIC experience preferred to optimize workflows and data integrity across the health system.

Qualifications

• RHIT or RHIA certification is required.
• EPIC experience preferred.
• Site visits 3-4 days per week to Lebanon and Tullahoma locations.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities of the medical records unit to meet operational plans.
• Schedules and assigns work to staff and trains in methods and procedures.
• Reviews and updates databases, following up on incomplete data and ensuring accuracy.
• Resolves operational issues within the department.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
