Job summary

Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Centers is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to support the 19-county catchment area. You will prepare, assemble, and disclose medical records, process requests in an EHR, and support chart audits and receptionist duties.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of medical records experience, and proficiency with MS Office. CPR and aggression management training within 3 months are expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; two years of related duties or a Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of medical office experience, front office duties.
  • Two years of experience with computer database systems or web portals.
  • Two years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Valid Texas driver\'s license and auto insurance.
  • CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training within first 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and disclose medical records for clients.
  • Process medical record requests through an electronic health record system.
  • Prepare a chart audit for Doctor\'s Day.
  • Provide reception coverage as needed and schedule/confirm consumer appointments.
  • Reconcile lab bills and verify insurance.
