Job summary

Winslow Indian Health Care Center is seeking an experienced Health Information Management Clerk to support patient services and chart management. You will handle document scanning, chart maintenance, and information releases within the EHR, while upholding strict confidentiality.

The role requires attention to detail, familiarity with MS Office and RPMS, and timely ROI processing. Flexible scheduling may include evenings or weekends to support WIHCC operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of healthcare setting experience or six months organizing medical records.
• Registered Health Information Technician certification preferred.
• Bilingual English and Navajo preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and background check as required.

Responsibilities

• Scan/import internal and external documents into the patient EHR promptly.
• Audit scanned documents as directed by HIM supervisor.
• Distribute patient documents across WIHCC as needed.
• Reactivate charts and resolve duplicates for accurate EHR.
• Use MS Office and Adobe Pro to support record management.
• Process requests for medical information and log disclosures in RPMS.
• Assist patients with ROI requests within 30 days.
• Answer phones, guide visitors, and support patient registration flow.
• Ensure confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA and Privacy Act.
• Occasionally cover evening/weekend shifts or satellite clinics.
