Job summary

Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA is seeking a Medical Records Coder to accurately code outpatient and inpatient encounters for reimbursement, research and compliance using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4. The role requires ART or associate degree with hospital coding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.

Candidates must demonstrate good judgment, effective communication skills, and dedication to accuracy and regulatory

Qualifications

• ART certification or an Associate degree in health administration or allied health.
• One year of hospital-based medical record and coding experience.
• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems.

Responsibilities

• Code all outpatient and inpatient encounters for reimbursement and compliance.
• Maintain accuracy and timeliness in coding using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Keep up-to-date with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Medical Records Coder

Description

Code all outpatient and inpatient encounters for the purpose of reimbursement, research and compliance with federal regulations according to diagnosis(es), operations and procedures using the ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding system.

Education/Experience

Accredited Record Technician (ART) and/or Associate Degree in business administration or allied health field and/or experience or training as a coder. Must have one year experience in hospital based work relating to the medical record department or knowledge of the ICD-10-CM coding system and CPT-4 coding system and medical terminology.

Typing Skills Required

Some knowledge of computer technology.
