Job summary

Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell is seeking a full-time Medical Records Clerk to organize and maintain nursing records, files, and policy books in support of the nursing department.

Weekly pay at $19 an hour. The role requires strong secretarial skills, attention to accuracy, and the ability to work with residents, families, and staff. On-the-job training will be provided, with emphasis on medical terminology and record procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• One year of clerical experience preferred.
• On-the-job training in medical work with knowledge of medical terminology and record procedure.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to interact professionally with staff, residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and organized nursing files, records, and nursing policy books.
• Maintain all regulatory-required logs and records.
• Coordinate and manage active and discharge medical records on file.
• Complete discharge medical records timely and ensure physician signatures where required.
• Review all requests for medical records with the Director of Nurses and/or Administrator.
