Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to maintain accurate health records within a correctional health care setting. You will organize, file, and safeguard patient information, and support release of information requests in a compliant manner.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and may include training in an accredited medical record program or one year of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: training in an accredited medical record program or 1 year in a medical record system preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Ensure confidentiality of medical records and handle release of information requests.
• Maintain up-to-date medical records filing and perform clerical duties such as preparing reports, answering phones, and filing documents.
• Schedule inmates for medical appointments and assist the Medical Records Supervisor with reports and data needs.
• Actively participate in quality improvement activities to uphold care standards and accurate records.
• Maintain accountability for the organization and security of health records and ensure accessibility to authorized personnel.
